Although their website expressly stated that a factor of motivation is the low number of Americans who "believe in" evolution, principal investigator of the project, Paul Horwitz, denied that their agenda was to convince people to change. Horwitz told the NABT: "we promote not a belief system... our goal is to help children understand the mechanism of evolution, natural selection if they believe it or not."Indeed, Announces project has again that they have "to teach young children how to model Darwinian natural selection explains the observation that the agencies are adapted to their environment."It sure looks like they want to get the children to believe in evolution.

Whether or not they are anxious to "young children" evolution "believe in", it is clear that there is a disconnect between the objectives of the project and its factors of motivation apparently in constant evolution.
