Czech Republic grant asylum to a Cuban political prisoner

PRAGUE (AP)--officials say Czech Republic became the second country in the European Union after the Spain to grant asylum to a Cuban political prisoner.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said Rolando Jiménez Posada arrived in Prague on Tuesday.

It is one of dozens of prisoners policies Communist Government of Cuba agreed to release on condition that they are leaving the island.

Pavla Holcova Organization for the defence of the rights of persons in need said Jiménez Posada, lawyer, was arrested in 2003 and received a term of imprisonment for 12 years three years later for said subversion.Holcova Posada arrived with his wife, my brother, son, and niece.

Czech Republic is one of the strongest criticisms in the human rights record EU Cubains.Le Ministry says the country is ready to take 10 Cuban political prisoners.
